Clashes underway between militants, security forces close to Nangarhar airport

An armed clash is underway between the armed militants and security force close to Nangarhar airbase in Afghanistan, the local officials said

Provincial governor’s spokesman Ataullah Khogyani said the attack was launched earlier today and a standoff is underway between militants and security forces.
Khogyani further added that a clearance operation has been launched to eliminate the assailants.

According to Khogyani the attack has been launched against a private firm which is operating close to the airport.
