Terrorist shot dead after murdering army officer in Herat province

The police forces shot dead a terrorist hours after he had murdered an army officer in western Herat province, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said

According to a statement released by MoI, the terrorist had shot dead an army officer during Iftar time in Shoz Bazar of Shindand district.

The statement further added that the police forces managed to trace the terrorist as he was attempting to flee and shot him dead in the bordering areas between Koh Zor and Zir Koh districts.

The police forces also confiscated a vehicle which belonged to the slain terrorist, the Ministry of Interior added.

The anti-government armed militants including Taliban have not commented regarding the incident so far.

Herat is among the relatively calm provinces in West of Afghanistan but anti-government armed elements are active in some of its remote districts where they often attempt to carry out terrorist related activities against the government and security institute~Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)
