Getting married in a refugee camp doesn’t mean giving up on your dream wedding dress. Nour has owned a wedding shop in Zaatari Camp for three years and with Valentine’s Day approaching she’s helping brides prepare for their big day.
Zaatari Refugee Camp in Jordan is home to 80,000 Syrian refugees and has been open since 2012. There are over 500 different shops in the camp, most located on the famous ‘Shams Elysee’, including Noor’s Wedding Shop/Salon.
She designs the dresses and does hair and makeup for the brides.
Mona, also a Syrian refugee and a bride to be came to Nour after a recommendation.
This Valentine’s Day she’s ready to celebrate all kinds of love.
